Indian Policies & Procedures

Indian Policies and Procedures (IPP)
School districts with children residing on Indian Lands must establish Indian Policies and Procedures (IPP) to ensure the district meets certain Federal Rules and Regulations requirements. The IPP must include minimum provisions:
- To ensure equal participation of Indian children in the LEAs programs and activities
- Strategies to improve communication and cooperation between the LEA and the Indian community
- Involvement by Indian parents and tribal officials in planning and developing educational programs and activities
- Dissemination of Impact Aid applications, student participation data, planning and evaluation information to parents and tribal officials
- Modify education programs and IPP if necessary to ensure equal participation by Indian children
