Indian Parent & Tribal Input

A Local Education Agency (LEA) that receives Impact Aid as a result of enrolling children residing on Indian treaty, federal trust or Alaska Land Settlement Act shall consult with and involve tribal officials and parents of Indian children in the planning and development of:
- Indian Policies and Procedures (IPP)
- LEA’s education programs and activities
Tribal officials and parents of Indian children involvement plan shall describe:
- How relevant Impact Aid Program documents will be disseminated to tribal officials and parents of Indian children
- How tribal officials and parents of Indian children will be provided the opportunity to present their view and recommendations on the needs of Indian children
- How, after input from tribes and parents of Indian children, the LEA will amend IPPs, if necessary
